We had 16 floating the Umpqua and 26 at dinner. The largest fish was 19 inches caught by Dane Lundgren and several caught 100 or more during the float. It was a great outing. So great that several members continued to fish and have great success through the end of the month!
Here are some pictures from the Rogue River outing. The fishing was slow for most of us but the outing was still a great event. Tom and Al caught the most half pounders each day with Tom catching as many as 20 to 30 in one day. We floated the Rogue River twice and the Illinois once. No half pounders in the Illinois but Robert managed to catch one small rainbow. We had 21 for lunch at Singing Spring Restaurant. On the last night we had 14 at a camp fire and cook Walldinger, Walldinger's are biscuits cooked over a fire and filled with good stuff to eat. It was a lot of fun. Jim and Diane took time to pan for gold. However, they did not make enough to pay for the trip.
We had 17 tubers on Saturday and 10 on Sunday tubing the Umpqua River and 30 at the dinner. The fishing was not great but we all caught some smallmouth bass and Tom Timothy caught the most each day - somewhere between 50 and 100 bass. It was a great time and the pot luck dinner was more than just great.
